I discovered this ginger shot several months ago and I’ve been obsessed with it. I make weekly batches ever since I came across it and include it as part of my daily immune support protocol.
I shared it on Instagram and received many messages about it. So I thought I would share a few more details about the goodness you can find in this super simple 2 ingredient shot. It really doesn’t get any easier than 2 ingredients!
You will need a juicer for this. I bought mine from Myer in the sales (initially to make celery juice but the celery juice didn’t agree with my stomach and my juicer had just been collecting dust). But thankfully, since discovering this ginger shot, my juicer has been getting a regular workout!
I usually make a batch that would give me about 5 shots. I purchased small 150ml glass jars (baby food size) from Kmart and store them in individual shots in the fridge for an easy grab each morning.
I like my shot with a good kick of spice and heat from the ginger. Just adjust the size of ginger depending on your preference and how much heat you like.
The ingredients/ ratio below is what you will need for 1 shot. If you are making a batch simply multiply that out by how many shots you wish to make.
I would generally do no more than 5 just to keep everything fresh and bacteria-free.
If you are making a batch the shot will separate a little in your storage jar. Just shake to combine again before you drink it.
Ingredients for 1 shot
- 1 x medium-sized apple of your choice – my preference is Pink Lady
- 1 x 2cm slice of ginger
- Put through your juicer and either consume immediately or store in your fridge to enjoy each morning.
